The Oriana Solar Farm project is a 45-megawatt (MW) AC (58 MW) solar power plant in Isabela, Puerto Rico consisting of approximately 183,000 solar panels which will supply energy to roughly 10,000 in the northwestern part of the island. One of the main purposes of this facility is to help the island reduce its dependency towards petroleum. It will help reduce carbon dioxide emissions that equal to the consumption of approximately 162,000 barrels of petroleum per year. This solar farm is a solid example of the future of energy generation in Puerto Rico.
